Mom- I Want a Guinea Pig!
How many parents have heard this plea from their children? Well, parents may be fielding even more pleas for guinea pigs due to the recent release of the Disney movie “G Force”. The movie is definitely cute, but parents beware….the movie even left one of our veterinarians wanting to run out and get a pet guinea pig!

So if you find yourself researching guinea pigs- the good news is that guinea pigs make great starter pets for young children. They are quiet and are less prone to biting than other rodents such as hamsters and gerbils. They typically live 4-5 years and do well with a cage environment. Before purchasing a guinea pig, check with our local shelters which often have guinea pigs up for adoption!

AT LMAH, we are joining in “G Force” Fever and offering the following free services for any new guinea pig patients in the next 3 months including:
  • Free examination
  • Nutritional and health counseling
  • Free nail trim
  • Free organic guinea pig treats

Veterinary Services Include Our Fish Friends
Many of our clients are aware that we see exotic pets at our hospital. But did you know that includes pet fish! One recent fish patient is Pluto, a goldfish that had surgery to remove a skin tumor. He recovered wonderfully from surgery and has his wiggle back in his swim!

If your fish is having a problem or if you would like a free water analysis, then schedule an appointment with Dr. Munchausen, our resident fish doctor!
