Ultrasound is a useful tool
in veterinary medicine to aid in disease diagnosis. Ultrasound
allows us to evaluate the size, texture, and shape of internal
organs With ultrasound, sound waves are projected by a transducer
into the patient and an image is created on the display screen.
Doctors can obtain biopsies
of organs such as the liver and spleen, guided by the ultrasound
image. Another useful application of veterinary ultrasound is
pregnancy diagnosis.
