Katie is originally from Modesto, California and is currently a student at the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California, Davis (U.C. Davis), where she also received her undergraduate degree. Katie chose to attend U.C. Davis for its animal science and veterinary program, and she will be graduating in August of 2023. She is excited to spend time at Lone Mountain Animal Hospital and get experience working with both small animals and exotics.
Growing up, Katie’s family had cats, dogs, a turtle, and she also spent time with horses. Because she was around animals, Katie knew from a young age that she wanted to work with them, and as she grew up and developed a love for science, she knew that veterinary medicine was the right path for her. “I knew I wanted to be a vet since I was five. Probably before I even really know what a vet was,” she said.
Katie enjoys binging Netflix shows with her cat, Kevin, and spending time outdoors going on walks and to the beach. She also loves to travel and one of her favorite places to visit has been Monterey, California.
