Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Megan’s passion for veterinary medicine began with her two beloved yellow Labs. Her natural affinity for animals and curiosity about different species emerged early, laying the foundation for her future career.
Her commitment to veterinary medicine solidified during her undergraduate studies at The University of Florida. Starting in her freshman year, she gained valuable experience by shadowing at a small animal hospital over the summer. She later volunteered at the local humane society, where she progressed from veterinary assisting to working in their spay and neuter clinic. Her experience was further enriched by an internship at a wildlife hospital before graduating in 2021.
Currently pursuing her veterinary degree at The University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Megan expects to graduate in May 2025.
During her time in veterinary school, she has worked as an emergency surgery technician for overnight surgeries. Her research experience includes working with sea turtles, performing necropsies, and studying endangered bats.
During this externship, Megan looks forward to gaining more technical experience and shadowing doctors to learn how they approach different cases, particularly those involving exotic animals.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, exploring new cuisines, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her cat, Adaline.
