Originally from Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Tabitha developed a lifelong passion for animals from an early age. After years of asking, she welcomed her first dog into the family at age 12, an experience that only strengthened her love for veterinary medicine. Today, her home is filled with a variety of companion animals, including two dogs, Kristoff and Zelda, a green cheek conure named Gertie, a leopard gecko named Calcifer, and a domestic medium hair cat named Link.

Tabitha knew she wanted to become a veterinarian when she was just three years old. Although she questioned whether she was capable of achieving that goal as she got older, she ultimately realized the only thing standing in her way was self-doubt. After several years working as a veterinary technician, she discovered that her favorite part of the profession was educating clients and helping them provide the best possible care for their pets. That experience solidified her decision to pursue veterinary school and continue advocating for both animals and the people who love them.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College before continuing her veterinary education at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine.

Tabitha is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine and anticipates graduating in August 2026.

Having visited Las Vegas once as a child, Tabitha is excited to return as an adult for her externship. She chose Lone Mountain Animal Hospital because of its strong focus on companion exotics, particularly avian and reptile medicine, and appreciated the opportunity to maximize her exposure to these species during her clinical year. She is also grateful for the student housing provided, which made the experience much more accessible.

During this externship, Tabitha is focused on strengthening her confidence in developing differential diagnoses and expanding her pharmacology knowledge while continuing to grow as a clinician. She has a strong interest in small animal medicine and companion exotics, especially birds and reptiles, and plans to return to New England after graduation to practice general medicine for both companion animals and exotic pets. As a hands-on learner who thrives in fast-paced environments, she welcomes every opportunity to challenge herself and build the confidence needed for her first year in practice.

Outside of the hospital, Tabitha enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, reading, hiking, and playing video games.
