Welcome our newest extern at Lone Mountain Animal Hospital, Tyler!
Tyler grew up in Casa Grande, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona for his undergraduate degree, where he is now attending the College of Veterinary Medicine.
When he was young, Tyler always knew that he wanted to be a veterinarian, but it was really confirmed for him when he was in high school and took vet assisting classes during which time, he was able to work in an animal hospital. “I got to see all of the work that is involved – the medical aspect, working with animals and people – I enjoy all of it,” Tyler said.
Tyler enjoys veterinary medicine because of the diversity of cases and the wide branching field which gives him the chance to explore different areas of interest. “I love the clinical thinking involved, working up a case, going through diagnostics and sometimes problem solving through the other steps that we can try,” he said.
Growing up, Tyler had two dogs and one cat, and he currently has a German Shepherd/Husky mix named Vision. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys video games, reading, gardening, cooking, and art. He is currently learning more about video editing, graphic design, and digital art.
