Kay, originally from Rhode Island, grew up with a variety of pets including dogs, a cat, a rabbit, a bird, and a bearded dragon.
Growing up with pets sparked their interest in working with animals at a young age. As they progressed through undergrad, they discovered their passion for the medicine side of veterinary work.
During their undergraduate summers, Kay worked at a veterinary clinic in Rhode Island and volunteered at a local shelter. They graduated from Suffolk University in Boston in 2021. Around graduation, they secured another position at a Boston veterinary clinic where they worked for about a year before applying to veterinary school. Currently, they work weekends at a veterinary clinic in Phoenix.
Kay is studying at Midwestern University with an expected graduation in 2027.
During this externship, they look forward to adopting a doctor’s mindset and working with exotic animals.
In their spare time, Kay enjoys hiking, reading, artistic activities, and spending time with their pets – a cat, dog, and corn snake.
