We’ve received reports of a scam affecting our hospital and others nationwide. Scammers are monitoring social media posts about pets undergoing surgery or hospitalization, then looking up the client’s phone number and pretending to be someone from the animal hospital. They may demand immediate payment and, in some cases, send a link for online payment.
At Lone Mountain Animal Hospital, any request for payment will always include your unique 5-6 digit account number, which can be found on your treatment plan, estimate, or receipt (example below).
Please note that we never take credit card or CareCredit payments over the phone. Payments will always be processed via a secure link that, going forward, will include your Lone Mountain account number.
