Laura is originally from Chicago, Illinois and is currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota where she will be graduating in May 2023. She attended the University of Illinois in Chicago and Loyola University in Roger’s Park, IL for her undergraduate degree.
Growing up, Laura’s family had cats, dogs, reptiles, and fish, so she has always enjoyed caring for animals. Currently, Laura has two cats, Ash and Penny, as well as two geckos, a snake, and a frog. She enjoys working with dogs and cats, but has also had a lot of experience working with exotics.
Laura knew from an early age that she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. She would often spend time with her aunt at the veterinary office that she worked at and shadow doctors around the clinic. When she started out in college, she was an English major, but she was quickly drawn back to animal medicine and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry before moving on to vet school.
Outside of her studies, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, who is a brewer, kayaking, gardening, and reading nonfiction.
