Brandon, originally from Woodbridge, Virginia, grew up surrounded by animals—especially dogs. His family often rescued Pitbulls, a tradition that sparked his lifelong love for animals. Today, his family includes Remy, a Pitbull; Stark, a Miniature Schnauzer; and Bear, a Pomeranian. Brandon also shares a close bond with his own Miniature Schnauzer, Gambit, who lives with him while he attends veterinary school. Growing up, his household was never short on pets—he even had two iguanas, Mucho and Rio, which deepened his fascination with animal care and behavior.
Brandon has gained valuable hands-on experience in both small and large animal medicine. He has shadowed at the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center and interned at Crossroads Animal Care Center, where he strengthened his skills in patient care and teamwork. Much of his early service experience came through his involvement in undergraduate clubs and volunteer work, allowing him to develop a well-rounded perspective on the veterinary field.
In his free time, Brandon enjoys experimenting with new cooking recipes, hiking and taking long walks with Gambit, capturing moments through both digital and film photography, and staying active through regular exercise. These activities give him balance and a creative outlet outside of his academic life.
What keeps Brandon motivated is his dream of becoming the first medical doctor in his family—a milestone that drives his passion and perseverance. The loss of his first dog at age thirteen to osteosarcoma left a lasting impact, inspiring him to dedicate his life to helping families and their beloved pets through both joyful and difficult times. Brandon plans to pursue a career in mixed animal medicine, combining his compassion for small animals with his growing interest in large animal care.
