Surgical procedures are scheduled Monday through Saturday. Surgical patients are checked in between 7:00am and 9:00am on the morning of surgery. Evening drop off the night prior to surgery can be arranged with standard boarding fees. All animals admitted to the hospital must be current on required vaccinations. For dogs and cats, withhold food after 9:00pm the night prior to scheduled surgery. Water should be available until the morning of the procedure. Exotic pets do not have the same pre-surgical requirements as dogs and cats; ask our staff about special feeding or pre-anesthetic preparations.
Anesthesia is monitored closely by technicians and using heart monitors, pulse monitors, temperature probes, and blood pressure measurements. For added safety, we routinely provide intravenous catheters for all general anesthetic patients. Pre-surgical blood work is advised for any pet undergoing general anesthesia. Please discuss your pet’s individualized needs with one of our veterinarians.
