Manny is originally from Germantown, Maryland and is currently enrolled at Michigan State University where he will be graduating in May of 2023. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in economics at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.
Manny has a Portuguese water dog named Obi, a beagle mix named Dexter, and five ball pythons. Dexter is a rescue that he adopted from a shelter while he was working with one of his professors on a behavioral study. Manny’s family had a beagle when he was young, and he has always loved animals.
Originally, Manny was planning to go into human medicine, but his senior year of college he started volunteering at a humane society and discovered his love for veterinary medicine. “I just felt so much more satisfied after working with animals there than I ever did working in hospitals,” Manny said. He is excited to work with the exotics here at Lone Mountain Animal Hospital and to get a first hand look at some of the surgeries that are performed.
Outside of his studies and caring for animals, Manny enjoys getting outdoors and playing sports, such as soccer and volleyball. He loves to take his dogs on walks and hikes in the woods and spend time in the fresh air.
