Katherine, originally from Michigan, discovered her passion for veterinary medicine at a young age. Driven by a love for animals and an interest in biology and medical terminology, she set her sights on fulfilling that childhood dream.
Her passion for veterinary medicine led her to volunteer at a local cat shelter in middle school, where she gained hands-on experience administering oral and subcutaneous medications to feline residents.
For undergrad, Katherine went to Purdue University, earning a bachelor’s degree in health science with a minor in animal science in 2023. It was during this time that her veterinary aspirations flourished. On a trip to Cusco, Peru, she had the opportunity to administer vaccines and conduct physical examinations on a variety of species, solidifying her commitment to the field.
Currently attending the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Katherine is on track to graduate in 2027.
Her journey recently took an exciting turn when, at a career fair, she discovered Craig Road Animal Hospital. Intrigued by the diverse opportunities the hospital offers and the excitement of working in Las Vegas, Katherine became the student representative for Craig Road Animal Hospital.
Throughout her life, Katherine has shared her home with a variety of pets, including hermit crabs, turtles, cats, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, fish, and a dog named Coco.
In her leisure time, Katherine enjoys watching “The Office,” cheering for her favorite college basketball teams, swimming, running, playing fetch with her cat Richard and spending time with her hamster, Dottie.
